Pitching to Investors
-shareholders want to know how you will deliver a return for them – focus on this in your pitch. People can tend to be locked up with the idea itself and how revolutionary it is.
– understand your market particulary your competitiors and how will you succeed in this competitive enviroment.
– explain your idea simply and quickly – being in the science field this poses a great difficulty but one all scientists should be very accustomed to as they are responsible for the dissemination of their reserach to the public whether it be in publications, conferences or presentations.
– Rod refers to the 3-4 page summary document (“pitch document”) again as a key tool and spend some time on its presentaion. Be prepared to have this document to be forwarded around the investment community so get it right the first time.
