Founder of Orcon and Green Carbon
Come and hear from one of New Zealand’s most successful young Hi-Tech entrepreneurs, Seeby Woodhouse.
Seeby started Orcon at 24 years old with $100, an old computer and a couple of modems and grew it to be the 4th largest Internet Service Provider in New Zealand. Since inception Seeby has never put in any extra money or equipment from his own pocket and in 2007 sold Orcon for $24.3 million to state-owned network operator Kordia. Does this sound like you? In 2004 Seeby became Ernst & Young’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year and in the same year was awarded New Zealand HiTech Young Achiever, both prestigious awards that recognises his incredible achievements at such a young age.
Since selling Orcon, Seeby has started Green Carbon, a company that focuses on helping business to reduce their carbon footprint by providing advice, carbon offsetting as well as investment in carbon-reducing projects around the world.
